Calnex’s Paragon-i is an installation and maintenance tool, designed to test and prove 1588v2, Sync-E and Time of Day (ToD) in the network.

The Paragon-i can test Time of Day (ToD) and Frequency (E1, T1 or any frequency) accuracy to nanoseconds. If there are failures or problems with these tests, Paragon-i can also analyse the 1588v2 PTP and Sync-E performance to allow the user to troubleshoot and fix these problems.

  • Test Time of Day (ToD) accuracy and verify it is below required limits (e.g. +1.5μs for TD-SCDMA or TD-LTE)
  • Analyse 1588v2 (PTP) Packet Delay Variation (PDV) is below specified limits (including MAFE, MinTDEV, etc.)
  • Measure and validate Sync-E compliance to ITU-T G.8262 (MITE/TDEV)
  • Measure E1/T1 recovered clock compliance to ITU-T G.823/G.824 (MITE/TDEV)
  • All of the above at the same time
  • Replay test files on Paragon to reproduce real network problems back in the lab
