Nokia Siemens Networks Proves Sync-E with Calnex

Berlin, Germany 22 September 2009.

Calnex Solutions today announced the successful testing of Synchronous Ethernet (or Sync-E) with Nokia Siemens Networks at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress event.

The testing was carried out at the Carrier Ethernet Multi-Vendor Interoperability event organised by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) last month.

Sync-E is a cornerstone technology that allows the migration of operators’ mobile backhaul to Next-Generation IP networks.

The test was carried out between the Nokia Siemens Networks FlexiPacket Microwave and other Carrier Ethernet platforms with Calnex’s Paragon providing the standards-based conformance and compliance measurements.

Calnex’s Paragon platform is an industry-leading validation solution, offering a unique combination of the critical technologies that need to be proved for Next-Gen mobile backhaul, namely Packet Synchronisation (Sync-E, 1588v2 PTP, etc.) and Ethernet OAM (Y.1731, 802.1ag, G.8031, etc).

More information about the EANTC Interop test as well as a White Paper can be found at www.eantc.com/cewc2009.
