Calnex Wins Deals at Europe's Top Operators

October 2008

Calnex has won strategic deals with the Calnex Paragon at three of Europe’s top Service Providers. These three companies are individually the main operator in each of Europe’s three largest economies.

The Calnex Paragon has emerged as the leading solution to enable the migration of legacy networks to Next-Gen packet-based networks. These operators have been using the Calnex Paragon to evaluate all the technologies that deliver timing and sync over next-gen networks, namely Circuit Emulation (CES), 1588v2 PTP, Synchronous Ethernet and NTP.

The migration to next-gen IP networks is a pivotal part of these operators’ plans. However, they need to prove that these new technologies will work before they are deployed to carry customer traffic. If accurate timing and sync is not delivered, customers will experience degradation of services, dropped calls and failed mobile call handovers.

“The Calnex Paragon allows operators to prove these technologies for network deployment as you can capture profiles of real networks and use these in the test bed. Operators have shown their confidence in the Calnex solution by entrusting the evaluation of a critical technology to the Paragon.” said Tommy Cook, CEO, Calnex
