Calnex Leads ITU-T Study Group
Lannion, France - 30 November 2009.
Calnex Solutions continued its leadership in the Packet Sync arena when it announced the sponsorship of Jean-Loup Ferrant at the ITU-T Study Group.
Jean-Loup will serve as Rapporteur of Question 13/15, which defines the industry's standards and recommendations (including G.8261, G.8262, G.8264, etc.) for Timing over Packet Networks.
As Rapporteur, Jean-Loup will chair the group’s regular meetings.
Jean-Loup has been leading this group for a number of years and is widely seen as one of the industry's leading figures in the world of Packet Timing and Synchronisation.
"This is a good opportunity for me to continue leading the ITU-T question 13/15 with the support of the leading player in Packet Sync test solutions," said Jean-Loup.
Tommy Cook, Calnex CEO welcomed Jean-Loup - "this is a critical time for the industry with a pressing need to develop standards and test metrics so operators can deploy their networks.
Jean-Loup will drive the ITU-T Q13/15 towards delivering these requirements and help Calnex stay ahead of the curve in providing test solutions."

For most, the migration to an all-Ethernet or all-IP network will be a gradual process as network operators endeavour to maximise the lifespan of their existing TDM assets.
